Summary: Conduct research on predictive modeling of aortic root dilation in pediatric patients with cardiovascular diseases

  • Construct and annotate echocardiogram datasets to enable automated aortic wall segmentation and diameter measurement in pediatric patients with cardiovascular diseases
  • Develop and apply machine learning models to predict progression of aortic root dilation and support classification of disease subtypes
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate data annotation and modeling pipelines, improving scalability and reproducibility of analyses
  • Selected for the Purdue Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program, Summer 2026.

Summary: Collaborated with Mead Johnson in a multidisciplinary team to design and implement a Python-based peptide database + Next.js web app for biomedical research applications

  • Identified/integrated data from multiple open-source peptide databases, consolidating structural, biochemical, and trait-specific characteristics into a centralized resource
  • Designed database infrastructure initially using PostgreSQL, then migrated to SQLite for improved portability and deployment
  • Developed a React web application to be used internally by Mead Johnson researchers
    • Create search interface to query relevant peptides and view summarizing data visualizations
    • Created peptide and protein mappers using LLM integration to complete sequences for unknown results

  • CS 18200: Foundations of Computer Science, a core discrete math class for Purdue CS with 800+ students
